NZCG assists in lifting new Taupo SH1 bypass

NZCG assisted Culhams Engineering with the  placement of a bridge section weighing 48 tonne for the new $110 million SH1 bypass. The section was lifted in tandem with Culhams Liebherr LR1400 400 tonne and NZCG’s Grove GMK6300 300 tonne cranes.

The bridge opened for general traffic at 8 October, saving drivers up to half an hour, eliminating queues at peak holiday times and take heavy trucks out of the lakeside town.
